St. Patrick's Day Cards
Hey there!
I mentioned in my St. Patrick's Day Haul that I don't make many St. Patrick's Day cards. The odd craft happens but card, not so much. However, I decided that this year, I'd mail out a card or two. Some unsuspecting loved one will get a green envelope from me and be glad about it!
Well, I can guarantee that they'll get the card. Not sure how glad they will be about it.
I always begin with my seasonal paper and my sentiment card bases. It's easier to make cards when you can just reach in a drawer and pull out a card base.
I didn't have a ton of St. Patrick's Day sentiments so I scoured the internet for some and came across the Brother website. They have a ton of crafts that I plan to check out but for this project, I just pulled some washi strips and cupcake toppers.
One of the easiest cards to create was the card that I made using a cutout from my Authentique paper. I matted the cutout on some green paper and popped it on the card base. I added some stickers and was done.
The most daring card was my lucky penny card. I saw a card on Pinterest using swooshes of color, a clover and a penny. The swooshes of color came from my Tim Holtz distress ink in Twisted Citron. The sentiment was one that I found on the internet and the clover is one of my sparkly stickers that I picked up from Joann Craft Store. I also added a few gold stars because, why not?!
The busiest card of the bunch? Well that would be my mad hatter card. I used a hat from the Brother website, punched out 4 circles and popped the hat circle in the middle. The clover with the gem in the center is actually...3 hearts glued together! Isn't that the cutest trick for creating a clover? I don't have a clover punch but you know I have a heart punch! Double duty.
My favorite card to create was this one with gemstone embellishments and stickers on top of a matted piece of green paper. I used two circle cutouts from the web and some of my stickers. This one was quick and easy but stylish.
Like I said, I don't normally make St. Patrick's Day cards but it's just too fun not to test your creative side and see what you can come up with. I'm fairly certain I could get 4 more cards out of my stash but who am I going to give them to?
Who knows? I might just give them to random strangers! I bet that would go over well.
