8 Days of Christmas - Day 4

Hey there!

It's Day 4 of 8 days of easy, peasy holiday gifts! I know that not everyone is finished shopping for Christmas gifts for coworkers and you guys are cutting it close! You might want to get moving.

It's all the rage people. Every adult I know has reverted back to their childhood and they are coloring! So, join in and, help your coworker join in.

Adult coloring books can be expensive. I personally have a Doctor Who one that I happily paid a pretty penny for. But, I also have a London one that I got for $3 at Target and a $1 Time for Tea coloring book that I got at Dollar Tree. All you have to do it pick a coloring book or two that the person you are giving it to might like. If they are very logical thinkers they have geometric pattern books. If they are a bit of a VIXEN they have books for that too (Outlander coloring books flew off of the shelves!). It really doesn't matter what they are into, there is an adult coloring book for it and you won't have to shell out big bucks for it unless you want to.

And if you get them coloring books, you need to get them something to color them with. There are many schools of thought on this. Some folks, like me, are crayons all the way. I have the super deluxe box of crayons that I have arranged by color family and put them in trays for easy adult coloring (what? doesn't everyone do that?). Some people just need your basic 24 colors for a good time.

Other folks like colored pencils. Again, you can go with the Crayola box of 8 or go super expensive and get the Prismacolor container of 72. Before you run out and invest $40 in the Prismacolor set of 72 colored pencils, I say start small with just a simple set of 24 or 48. Use a coupon at your craft store. Or, play it safe and pick up a quick and easy set at your dollar spot for $2 or $3.

Now some people do get sassy and VIXEN like and use fancy coloring mediums like markers or charcoal pastel sticks or water colors. Don't join the debate today people. You're just getting a small holiday gift. Go with what you like. I'd suggest colored pencils. They are the happy medium in this war.

If you think you just need a little somethin' somethin' to make this gift pop, add some tea bags. Adult coloring is supposed to be soothing and calming so adding tea to this gift just makes sense. And of course, you can always add some candy. It is the holidays after all.

I know, you still have a gift or two to get. Good thing that tomorrow is day 5 of 8 Days of Christmas gift ideas!
