Paper Crafts - Halloween Cards
Hey there!
One of the first things that you do as a child is take a sheet of copy paper, fold it in half, use some crayons and tell your parents how much you love them...
...or happy birthday...
...or thank you...
... or something. You write something on the inside of that card and happily hand it to your loved one. You hope with all your being that they will love the card just as much as you loved making it. And when you are 4, 5 or 6 years old, they are going to love it. They will gush over how fantastic it is and attach it to the fridge with a magnetic chip clip.
Don't you still just love giving cards to your friends and family? I do. I enjoy making cards for each person and then watching them as they open the envelope. I enjoy picking out die cuts and ribbon and stamps and embellishments for each season. I try to stick with a few decorative sets for each season and make all of my cards around that set.
For Halloween I did exactly that. First I scoured Pinterest to get some card ideas. Then I picked up a clear stamp set from Art C Stamps and the Jack-O'-Lanterns die cut set from Cheery Lynn Designs. The stamp set has all the cute sentiments that I need for my cards. I can warn people about "Things that go bump in the night" or "Beware". I can stamp a cute spider dangling from a spider web or pop a bat in the background. I can remind people that on October 31st they need to say "Trick or Treat". This stamp set checks all the boxes for me and my card making needs.
And who can resist three spooky, snaggle toothed pumpkins? I wanted a die cut set that would add that extra something to my cards. I wanted to be able to pick out some colored paper and make something fun.
All I did was add some bright orange and sparkly silver paper, purple dot and spider web ribbon and all types of washi tape and I made a fantastic set of spooky but fun Halloween cards, if I do say so myself.
It didn't take long and it didn't cost much. I didn't over think it and I kept it fun. I don't know if all my friends will get the full thrill of these cards but I had fun making them.
And I'll do it again. Just wait for Thanksgiving to roll around!
