Making Halloween Ticket Embellishments

There are times that you get in a crafty mood and you just make things until your eyelids droop, you begin to see double and you hear yourself snore. This past weekend was like that for me.
I had been watching YouTube videos (of course) and decided to create some embellishments for my Halloween stash. That way, as I was making flipbooks, mini albums or scrapbook layouts, I could just pick up one or two embellishments and move on to the next step. I got the different ideas from lots of different people but I binge watched videos by Yenny Storytale. If you haven't watched her, you need to go and do so. She is so smart and had so many great ideas!
One of the many things that she was making were ticket embellishments. When I was watching her video I didn't have any tickets. I did have MS Word clip art though, and they have clip art of tickets. That's what I printed out and used for my embellishments.
I cut the tickets out and then used my hole punch to edge up the tickets, similar to the tickets you can purchase at the store. If you don't have a hole punch handy, just curve the ticket ends with your scissors.
Once my tickets were cut out and punched, I distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Distress Ink. You certainly don't have to do that but I thought it made my tickets stand out when I backed them on the colored paper.
I found cut outs from several kits that I have in my stash and added them to the paper that I backed my ticket on. I found my cut outs in a kit at the craft store but you can use clip art, magazine cut outs or things you draw by hand. If you have paper pads, you can fussy cut images from those pieces of paper as well.
Adding ribbon to your ticket is always a nice touch. I looped mine and tucked it behind the ticket. You can tuck yarn or streamers or tulle or anything you can get your hands on. It's all about your imagination.
It's really nice to have a stash of embellishments to reach for. You can spend an afternoon working on your projects and you won't have to stop and create anything new.
